Five Tips for Cooking with Cardamom
At LoveSelf, we adore Cardamom. This citrusy, slightly peppery spice is native to India and has a versatility that many wouldn’t imagine. Cardamom is an excellent example of food as medicine.
Cardamom is known to aid digestion and assist in healing digestive issues. It is an excellent detoxifier. Ayurvedic healers use cardamom to treat depression. Cardamom is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory and is even known to assist in recovering from a cold
The lovely spice contains Manganese, Potassium, Iron, Calcium, and Magnesium, Vitamin C, and Niacin.
In addition to the great Indian dishes highlighting cardamom, how about using ground cardamom (like we did!) in a cookie recipe?
Steep whole cardamom in tea or add to your coffee beans before brewing a cup.
How about adding a few pods to your morning oatmeal?
